Spanierman Modern is pleased to announce the opening on September 8, 2011 of Stephen Pace: Abstract Expressionist, presenting a group of large-scale paintings by Pace (1918-2010), dating from the 1950s through the early 1960s, representing the bold and direct freedom of thought and action that characterized this exhilarating time in American art and culture. The exhibition is accompanied by a thirty-two page catalogue with color illustrations of the twenty-one works in the show and an essay by Lisa N.
